| This not-for-profit club has been around since about 1975.
Membership has varied a bit. Membership on April 10, 2006 was 61.
Tournaments average about 45 participants.
All meetings of the club involve tennis competition. The club usually meets at 6 tournaments each season at the Borrego clubhouse on Palm Canyon Drive. Tournaments alternate between mixed and straight doubles. These tournaments are spaced about month apart starting around Halloween, and ending near the end of April. Usually one or two other meetings occur during the summer in cooler climates, such as Tahoe or San Clemente. The club is a non-property owning organization. It currently rents the facility, usually in Borrego Springs, for each tournament. Club members get together at Saturday potlucks during each tournament, except the last of the season, where a banquet is catered. As of April 10, 2006, membership is $75/year plus $10/tournament. You must join to play in more than one tournament each year. If joining in the middle of the year, membership cost is reduced accordingly. |
